Steve’s Summer in Hartford

Goals

Posted in Uncategorized by steve carroll on June 4, 2009

We prayed specifically about how we’d like to grow/change/develop during the course of this summer.

Cara – Learn more about inner-city life and the kids’ lives and problems.  Also, learn more about living in community.

Alyssa – Grow in compassion

Julie – Develop relationships with kids, but especially more with families and neighbours since she’ll be living here in Hartford once the summer is over.

Brit – Develop depth in relationships.  Enter into the pain of the people here and step into their shoes.

Steve (me) – Meet God daily.  Explore different areas of my faith and relationships with other people.

Amy – Come to the end of the summer with confidence that we did our best with relationships this summer that can be continued and sustainable.  To not be anxious and to give her concerns to the Lord.

Praying that God would show himself to all of you in wondrous and personal ways.
“Meet God daily”… this can look like so many interesting things.
meet- to have a definite appointment with.
    meet- to be introduced to.
meet- to have a specific purpose/goal in mind.
God will always show up to “meet” you.
Sometimes in the form of a beggar, a flower, a crying child, a hurt dog, an elderly parent, a convicted criminal, the wind, or even in the silence.
When he does meet you he will ask you 2 things.. Do you love me? and How much?
we love you all and are praying for you. mom
